LTSC South Bay Nikkei Needs Assessment Report

South Bay Japanese American Needs Assessment Report

The South Bay area of Los Angeles County is home to the largest concentration of Japanese Americans and Japanese immigrants, collectively referred to as "Nikkei," in the mainland United States. LTSC has been providing bilingual social services in the South Bay for more than 20 years.

LTSC engaged in a year-long needs assessment process with various community partners to identify the greatest needs in the South Bay Nikkei communities. The demographic data, survey results, and focus group findings, as well as recommendations are compiled in a needs assessment report that can be downloaded here.

This study was funded by grants from NeighborWorks® America and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Aratani Community Advancement Research Endowment (CARE).
