Social Services Statement on COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) is taking steps to maintain core services while making changes to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Based on recommendations from the State of California and Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Health, LTSC will be cancelling group activities, including workshops and support groups, for the rest of March and possibly beyond. However, we realize that many people in our community will need supportive services now more than ever during these challenging times.
LTSC’s multilingual team of social workers will remain available for individual assistance by phone at the main office in Little Tokyo, as well as through limited in-person appointments. LTSC is currently not taking calls at its South Bay office.
To reach LTSC’s Social Services Department, please call 213-473-3035 Monday to Friday between 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm. Social workers can provide information, referrals, and even counseling over the phone. If an issue can’t be resolved by phone, social workers will schedule in-person consultations on a case-by-case basis for time-sensitive needs such as help applying for government benefits.
LTSC has stepped up cleaning and disinfecting of its office spaces in order to provide as safe of an environment as possible for visitors and staff. Unfortunately, in order to protect everyone’s health, we will not be able to see walk-in visitors at this time. All office visits are by appointment only.
