Terasaki Budokan:

Terasaki Budokan is a new sports facility located in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles on a 38,880 sq. ft. lot. The facility includes a 2-court gymnasium; rentable spaces; an outdoor plaza; a community room; and outdoor terrace. Visit terasakibudokan.org for more information.

Little Tokyo Properties:

Our Little Tokyo properties consist of three historic buildings, nine commercial spaces, and a forty-five-unit hotel/apartment building.

Position Summary:

The Facilities Manager will oversee building and grounds maintenance for the Terasaki Budokan and other buildings and commercial storefronts in the Little Tokyo neighborhood. They will be responsible for ensuring the buildings are safe, up to code, and fully operational. The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for managing contractors, procurement and working with third party vendors, and working with commercial tenants.

Responsibilities Include

  • Planning building maintenance and operational programs;
  • Managing all vendor contracts;
  • Ensuring efficiency of all building systems;
  • Coordinating site safety programs;
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees;
  • Coordinating with third party vendors and event coordinators;
  • Managing maintenance of grounds;
  • Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations;
  • Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules;
  • Coordinating building security and maintenance services;
  • Coordinate maintenance issues and services with commercial tenants;

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a facilities manager;
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business management, operations management or related field preferred. Certification in facilities management is a plus;
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently;
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player;
  • Self-motivated and self-directed;
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field;
  • Ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a problem-solver
  • Computer competency- Microsoft Office, Google G Suite
